Ajinkya Rahane: Rajasthan opener hit 84 not out in losing cause
Morne Morkel: turned the game in Delhi's favour with tight penultimate over
Delhi Daredevils snatched a one-run victory over Rajasthan Royals to consolidate top spot in the IPL.
Seamers Morne Morkel and Umesh Yadav bowled a superb final two overs when it looked like the Royals would overhaul their target of 153, with Ajinkya Rahana smashing an unbeaten 84 off 63 balls.
The Royals needed 15 off the last two overs, but Morkel brought the Daredevils back into the hunt when he conceded only three runs in the 19th over and also got rid of dangerman Brad Hodge.
Rahane reduced the 12 they needed off the final over - with the help of a huge six - to two off the last ball but he missed Yadav's delivery and Owais Shah was run out.
The Daredevils earlier made 152-6 with captain Virender Sehwag scoring his fourth successive half-century before being dismissed for 63 off 39 balls.
There was a rare failure from Kevin Pietersen, who scored just five from five balls.
The Daredevils are on top of the IPL standings with 14 points after winning seven of their nine matches and the Royals are fifth with eight points.
