New Zealand v England Test Series 2013
Basin Reserve, Wellington
England had to settle for a draw in the second Test with New Zealand after the final day in Wellington was completely washed out.
The hosts made a dominant start to the match and had the visitors in big trouble after enforcing the follow on, but the weather ultimately rescued the Black Caps.
Only 35 overs were possible on the fourth day and more adverse weather on Monday completely scuppered England's chances of taking a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
The first Test was also drawn, meaning the final contest in Auckland later this week becomes a winner-takes-all encounter.
New Zealand were due to resume on 162-2 in their second innings, still 49 runs adrift of England's first-innings total.
Ross Taylor and Kane Williamson were well set on 55 and 41 respectively, with England only able to remove Hamish Rutherford (15) and Peter Fulton (45) since putting the Black Caps back in.
New Zealand Cricket stated that a decision on whether or not to abandon the match would not be made until late afternoon local time, but they bowed to the inevitable just after 2pm.
