Ackerman: made his highest one-day score

Hylton Ackerman's 139 set the platform for Leicestershire to claim a seven-run victory over Northamptonshire in the FP Trophy.

The South African-born batsman struck 17 fours during a 150-ball knock that led the Foxes to a total of 268-6 after they had opted to bat first.

It was only just enough as Northamptonshire - led by Niall O'Brien's 95 - almost pulled off the run chase.

The Steelbacks looked doomed at 98-5 with opening batsman O'Brien having lost all his top-order colleagues, but Lance Klusener (42) joined him in a 76-run sixth-wicket stand that revived the hosts' hopes.

However, O'Brien's dismissal - caught by Ryan Cummins off Nadeem Malik's bowling five short of a century - reduced Northants to 174-6.

And despite Johan Louw's unbeaten 35, the lower order fell just short, finishing on 261-8 from their 50 overs.
