Blain: Impressive bowling
Friends Provident Trophy - North Division
The Citylets Grange
Durham 181-9 Innings Complete v Scotland 52-5
Durham beat Scotland by 46 runs (D/L Method)
A disastrous batting performance ended Scotland's hopes of reaching the knock-out stages of the Friends Provident Trophy.
The Scots restricted Durham to a total of 181-9 with a solid bowling display, but their top order failed with the bat as they were reduced to 52-5 in reply.
The umpires then called an end to proceedings because of bad light, leaving the hosts 46 runs short of their amended target.
The writing was on the wall when overseas star Ed Cowan fell for five, and there was no way back after skipper Ryan Watson and Colin Smith were both trapped lbw in quick succession.
Earlier, the host attack kept the Dynamos in check, with none of their batsmen able to pass the 30-mark.
John Blain was again impressive as he removed Kyle Coetzer, Ben Harmison and Gary Park to claim 3-31.
