Nottinghamshire beat Leicestershire by 2 wkts

Matt Wood scored a debut half-century to help Nottinghamshire secure a two-wicket FP Trophy win over Leicestershire.

Darren Pattinson (3-45) and Samit Patel (3-34) also helped themselves to career-best bowling figures for the Outlaws as Leicestershire were bowled out for 197.

Captain Paul Nixon (75) and Boeta Dippenaar (51) were the only visiting players to make any impact with the bat.

Wood hit nine fours in a 44-ball fifty in an opening stand of 84 with Will Jefferson, before a middle-order collapse took the game to the wire thanks to four quick wickets from James Allenby.

With the scores tied, tail-ender Luke Fletcher then hit the winning runs off the last ball of the match to push Notts to the top of the Midlands Division, overtaking Leicestershire.
