Leicestershire 245-5 Innings Complete (H H Dippenaar 69, H D Ackerman 54) v Ireland 164 (W T S Porterfield 65, C W Henderson 4-30)
Leicestershire beat Ireland by 81 runs
Leicestershire secured a comfortable 81-run victory from their Friends Provident Trophy trip to Belfast to face Ireland, to move two points clear at the top of the Midlands Division.
Despite losing opener Thomas New with the score still in nought, the Foxes managed to set a challenging target for the hosts when they reached 245-5 from their 50 overs at Stormont.
South Africans Boeta Dippenaar and HD Ackerman were the mainstays of the innings as they combined for an 80-run partnership for the third wicket before Ackerman went for 54.
Dippenaar then added 96 with wicketkeeper Paul Nixon before he got out for 69, while Nixon went two runs short of his half-century.
Ireland opener William Porterfield put on 42 for the first wicket with partner Reinhardt Strydom and 49 with Alex Cusack, but found very little other support.
Porterfield went for 65 eventually as one of Claude Henderson's four wickets and with him went any hope of an Irish win as they were bowled out for just 164 with seven overs to spare.
