Friends Provident Trophy - North Division
Riverside
Durham 205-8 (D M Benkenstein 64) v Lancashire 199-9 (M B Loye 77)
Durham beat Lancashire by 6 runs
Durham successfully defended a total of 205-8 for a six-run victory over Lancashire at the Riverside.
Dale Benkenstein's sedate 64 and a more breezy 42 not out from Garry Park allowed the hosts to put a decent score on the board after being asked to bat.
And it proved just enough Lancashire could muster just 199-9 in reply, despite a battling 77 from Mal Loye.
Steve Harmison was the star performer with the ball for Durham, claiming figures of 3-44 from his 10 overs.
The result keeps alive holders Durham's slender hopes of progressing to the quarter-finals.
