Warwickshire beat Worcestershire by 7 wkts
Warwickshire have maintained their unbeaten Twenty20 Cup record with a seven-wicket win over Worcestershire at New Road.
Jonathan Trott led the way for the Bears, his 61 not out - the highest for his county in the competition this season - inspiring the Bears to victory with 10 balls to spare.
After being put in, the Royals made a strong start thanks to Vikram Solanki and Graeme Hick, who made 44 in six overs.
Hick, who equalled Graham Gooch's all-time record of 1,195 appearances, smashed four fours off nine balls before a slower delivery from paceman Neil Carter was safely caught at mid-on by Chris Woakes.
Moeen Ali fell cheaply to spinner Ant Botha before Solanki completed his second Twenty20 half-century of the campaign with eight fours off 47 balls.
However, he departed following the next Ian Salisbury delivery, with the spinner also claiming Stephen Moore on his way to figures of 2-24.
Ben Smith made a valuable 36, but Worcestershire's total of 141-4 was not enough to give their opponents a more testing victory target.
After Carter fell to Steve Magoffin - Kabir Ali making a fine reflex catch at short fine leg - Trott and Jim Troughton made progress, aided by some poor Worcestershire fielding.
Troughton hit the game's only six in the 30th over when he smacked Daryl Mitchell over the long-on ropes but was then bowled middle stump by Simon Jones.
He and Trott had put on 57 in seven overs with the latter then joining forces with Tony Frost in a partnership during which they plundered 20 off one Jones over.
They eventually added 60 in seven overs before Frost (27) departed when Hick held a fine catch at short cover off Solanki.
Trott's innings contained eight fours off 49 deliveries, with Carter the man of the match thanks to four overs that cost just 14 runs.
After four matches each in the Midlands/West/Wales division, the Bears are now three points better off than their Midlands rivals.
