AB de Villiers warmed up for the third Test with a century on the final day of South Africa's drawn tour match against Bangladesh A at New Road.

De Villiers retired out after reaching his second successive three-figure score, following on from the 174 he made during South Africa's 10-wicket triumph over England in the Headingley Test.

Robin Peterson also helped himself to an undefeated 103 and Andre Nel (56) a maiden first-class half-century before the Proteas finally declared their second innings at 328-4, a lead of 636, an hour after lunch.

With victory out of the equation, Bangladesh A comfortably batted out for the draw, closing on 97-2 with Tamim Iqbal contributing 65.

Kallis fears allayed

A less-than-thrilling final day began with Jacques Kallis failing to resume his innings in which he was 55 not out overnight along with De Villiers, who was undefeated with 79.

Kallis injured the fourth finger on his left hand while attempting an overhead catch in the slips on Saturday, although he was subsequently given the all-clear following an X-ray and did take his place in the field when Bangladesh A came out to launch their second innings.

South Africa lead the four-match series against England 1-0 following a comprehensive victory in the second Test at Headingley.

They are without pace spearhead Dale Steyn due to a broken thumb for the third Test at Edgbaston, which starts on Wednesday, and coach Mickey Arthur has already revealed that Nel is his likely replacement.
