Rudolph: calm innings
Friends Provident Trophy - Quarter Final
Bristol
Gloucestershire 201 (S J Adshead 71, C G Taylor 54, T T Bresnan 4-31) v Yorkshire 205-4 (C White 55, J A Rudolph 53 no)
Yorkshire beat Gloucestershire by 6 wkts
Yorkshire comfortably chased down a target of 202 for a six-wicket victory in their FP Trophy quarter-final against Gloucestershire.
Half-centuries from Craig White and Jacques Rudolph saw the Tykes home with 5.5 overs to spare at Bristol.
Opening batsman White set the tone of the run chase with a 107-ball 55, laying the platform for Rudolph to finish the job with a more attractive 53 not out.
The South African left-hander shared an unbroken fifth-wicket stand of 66 with Adam Lyth (38no) to get Yorkshire across the line.
Earlier, Gloucestershire recovered from 50-6 to reach a total of 201 all out after being asked to bat.
Matthew Hoggard (3-26), making his comeback after two-and-a-half weeks out with a broken thumb, accounted for Hamish Marshall (16), Alex Gidman (3) and Marcus North (1) during his opening burst to help put the hosts in deep trouble.
But a partial recovery was instigated by contributions of 54 from Chris Taylor and 71 from Steve Adshead.
Hoggard's new-ball partner Tim Bresnan returned to clean up the tail and finish with figures of 4-31 as Gloucestershire were all out in 45.2 overs.
