Gloucestershire 268-9 (W T S Porterfield 74, C G Taylor 63) v Surrey 140 (I D Saxelby 4-31)
Gloucestershire beat Surrey by 128 runs
Surrey were skittled for 140 to slip to a 128-run defeat at Gloucestershire in the FP Trophy.
Half-centuries from Will Porterfield and Chris Taylor allowed the hosts to reach a score of 268-9 after they had been asked to bat at Bristol.
Irish batsman Porterfield, making his return to county action after captaining his country to qualification for the 2011 World Cup, hit 74, while Taylor injected impetus into the later stages of innings with an inventive 63 off 58 balls.
Surrey were never in the hunt, quickly slipping to 53-4 in reply, including a five-ball duck for Mark Ramprakash.
Ramprakash edged behind off the economical Steve Kirby (1-14), although it was teenage seamer Ian Saxelby who finished with the best figures of 4-31.
Usman Afzaal's 36 was the top score as the visitors subsided meekly in 38.2 overs.
Gloucestershire outplayed their opponents in all departments and look capable of becoming a one-day force again following the return of John Bracewell - the man who led them to five trophies in two seasons in 1999 and 2000 - as director of cricket.
