New Zealand romped to an emphatic 10-wicket win in their one-off Twenty20 international against Bangladesh in Hamilton.

The tourists were dismissed for a paltry 78 in just 17.3 overs and New Zealand then rattled off their victory target in double-quick time with openers Brendon McCullum and Peter Ingram needing just 8.2 overs to see them home.

However, Bangladesh did themselves few favours with a poor fielding display, McCullum being dropped on six and Ingram allowed a life of his own when 11.

McCullum made full use of his reprieve as he smashed an unbeaten half-century, blazing seven fours and two sixes on his way to finishing on 56 not out from 27 balls.

In his first taste of international cricket Ingram hit three fours in his 23-ball 20 not out.

Earlier in the day, the Black Caps bowlers had made short work of the tourists batting line-up with skipper Daniel Vettori excelling as he finished with superb figures of three wickets for six runs from his four overs.

Vettori claimed the scalps of Mohammad Ashraful, Mushfiqur Rahim and Shahadat Hossain, while Daryl Tuffey, Nathan McCullum and Jacob Oram all claimed two victims, Oram bringing an end to the innings when he had Bangladesh top-scorer Raqibul Hasan stumped by Gareth Hopkins for 18.

Only five Bangladesh batsmen made it to double figures Tamim Iqbal (14), Ashraful (11), Aftab Ahmed (12), Mahmudullah (11) and Raqibul Hasan in what was the sixth lowest international Twenty20 score ever.
