Jones: on the comeback trail
Simon Jones continued his latest comeback from injury with three wickets to help bowl Hampshire Royals to a 45-run win over Kent Spitfires in the Friends Provident t20.
Fast bowler Jones, who has been plagued by knee problems since starring in England's 2005 Ashes win, claimed 3-20 as Kent were skittled for 94 in pursuit of a target of 140 at Canterbury.
Left-arm spinner Danny Briggs also picked up 3-5 during a miserable batting effort from the home side, for whom skipper Robert Key top scored with 22.
Sean Ervine had earlier hit 44 in Hampshire's effort of 139 all out after they had chosen to bat first.
Kent spin duo Malinga Bandara (3-14) and Martin van Jaarsveld (3-25) each collected three wickets, the Royals failing by one delivery to see out their full allocation.
