Bell: raced to 50 from 43 balls
Half-centuries from Varun Chopra and Ian Bell helped Warwickshire to a four-wicket success over Yorkshire in the semi-final of the Clydesdale Bank 40 at Scarborough.
Chasing a revised target of 260 in a match reduced to 37 overs per side by rain, the Bears got home in the penultimate over to progress to a Lord's date against Somerset next Saturday.
Chopra hit 76 off 81 balls, an innings that was initially overshadowed by the big-hitting exploits of opening partner Neil Carter (40 off 26 balls) and number three Keith Barker (34 off 26).
The visitors were always in touch with the required-rate, Bell chipping in with 57 from 49 deliveries - including three sixes - to build on the good work of Carter and Barker.
Bell departed to leg-spinner Adil Rashid (2-43) and seamer Steven Patterson (2-63) removed Chopra and Rikki Clarke (12) as Warwickshire wobbled, slipping from 203-2 to 216-5.
But, with 23 required from the final three overs, Darren Maddy (34no) hammered consecutive sixes off Patterson to ensure the Bears got home with seven balls to spare.
Jacques Rudolph had earlier hit a century as Yorkshire piled up 257-5 after being asked to bat.
Rudolph made 106 from 95 deliveries before being run out from the final ball of the innings.
The South African left-hander put on 73 with opening partner Andrew Gale (30) either side of a brief rain delay that saw the match trimmed from a 39 to 37-overs affair.
Rudolph was given powerful support further down the order from Gerard Brophy (64) and Jonathan Bairstow (26no) as only Warwickshire's spin duo, Andre Botha (1-40) and Imran Tahir (1-38), were able to exert any semblance of control.
