Leicestershire Foxes' Clydesdale Bank 40 match against Essex Eagles at Grace Road was abandoned without a ball being bowled.
Steady rain which began in mid-morning, left the outfield saturated and, after a 3.30pm inspection, umpires Nigel Llong and Mark Eggleston decided there was little hope of conditions improving.
