Kevin Pietersen: Guided Delhi home with unbeaten 43
Kevin Pietersen marked his Indian Premier League return with an unbeaten 43 as Delhi Daredevils eased to an eight-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings on home soil.
Fresh from helping England square the recent Test series in Sri Lanka, Pietersen maintained his impressive form with a breezy 26-ball cameo to see Delhi to a target of 111.
Chennai had earlier slumped to 110-8 from their 20 overs during an innings which featured no less than four run outs.
Dwayne Bravo (22) made the only contribution of note for the Super Kings, with Morne Morkel (2-19) the pick of the Delhi bowlers.
Neman Ojha (14) and Virender Sehwag (33) put the Daredevils on course for a speedy victory with a 32-run partnership inside four overs for the first wicket.
Sehwag found the boundary on four occasions and cleared it once before holing out to Murali Vijay on the midwicket boundary off the bowling of Ravi Ashwin.
Pietersen then took centre stage, launching spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin for one maximum apiece and adding three other boundaries before the victory target was reached with 6.4 overs to spare.
