Yorkshire beat Leicestershire by 3 wkts
Yorkshire made a winning start to their Twenty20 Cup campaign by beating Leicestershire by three wickets with one ball to spare.
The Tykes had looked to be well on their way to victory target of 149 on 110-2 - Michael Vaughan top-scoring with 35 - but they lost five wickets for 15 runs as the Foxes hit back with a vengeance.
However, just as it looked as though the momentum was back with the visitors, Ajmal Shahzad struck a six and a four off the penultimate over to leave Yorkshire requiring just six off the final over.
Without having to take any further risks, he and Simon Guy nudged the required runs off Wayne White's first five delieveries to pick up the two points.
Earlier, Hylton Ackerman batted throughout the 20 overs for 66 runs as Leicestershire set a reasonable total of 148 for three.
The South African received good support from James Taylor (30) and veteran Paul Nixon (31 off 21 balls) but it proved to be short of the mark.
