Pakistan seamer's domestic season hinges on injury assessment
Concerned about his recovery from a dislocated shoulder, Yorkshire have told overseas signing Rana Naved-ul-Hasan that he has until the end of the month to prove his fitness.
The Pakistan seamer suffered the injury when he crashed into an advertising hoarding fielding in a match for county champions Sussex late last season.
Despite the incident, the 29-year-old was later signed by Yorkshire for the 2008 season, but the club have now expressed concern about the rate of his recovery.
A statement on the club's website, www.yorkshireccc.com, confirmed Rana will undergo an assessment with their physio on January 31st, with Yorkshire adding they have another option available should his fitness fall short.
It added: "The club has been determined to give Rana time to prove his rehabilitation from the shoulder injury sustained when playing for Sussex at the end of last season.
"If he has not recovered sufficiently to play for Yorkshire this summer a contingency plan is in existence."
