Darren Gough believes England's first Test flops must bounce back quickly in New Zealand or suffer the consequences.
The former England paceman watched from home as Michael Vaughan's side slumped to a comprehensive 189-run defeat to New Zealand in Hamilton.
The result follows on from a series defeat in Sri Lanka over the winter after also going down at home to India last summer.
And Gough insists there either needs to be an immediate improvement from the squad or an overhaul of the playing staff.

"There's been a bit of criticism and I think it was deserved," he told Sky Sports News.
"Unfortunately over the last 12 months we've not been able to string any results together. There has got to be a reason, we've got to find that reason and solve it quickly.
"There are players at home starting pre-season wanting to play for England and if these players are not going to produce I'm sure there'll be someone else to take their place."
Gough is backing the skipper and his main strike bowler to bounce back after their indifferent starts to the tour though.
"We've got some great players there, led by a good captain - Michael Vaughan - and Steve Harmison is a quality bowler," he added.
"He's obviously started the tour slowly but he's a quality bowler and I'll back him as a team-mate, which I've been in the past, and as a mate.
"Lets hope he recovers well because when you get Steve Harmison bowling well England are a better side."
Coach Peter Moores is yet to confirm his starting XI for the next must-win match in the three-Test series, which will start in Wellington on Wednesday.
