Left-arm seamer Ryan Sidebottom has been ruled out of the one-day leg of England's tour of West Indies due to an Achilles tendon injury.
Sidebottom, 31, played in the first, second and fourth Tests in the Caribbean but struggled to make an impact - taking just one wicket in 59 overs.
Kent pace bowler Amjad Khan, who was picked for his international debut in the ongoing fifth Test, will replace Sidebottom in the one-day squad.
England are scheculed to play West Indies in a one-off Twenty20 match and five one-day internationals, starting with the T20 on March 15 in Trinidad.
"We feel as though Ryan is best served going back for some intensive treatment," said ECB managing director Hugh Morris.
Morris also confirmed that Andrew Flintoff will rejoin the England squad for the one-dayers.
Flintoff went home after the third Test due to a hip injury but, after some intensive rehabilitation with his county Lancashire, is fit to return.
"Andrew is flying back to Trinidad tomorrow (Tuesday); our medical team have been pleased with his progress," added Morris.
"He will continue his treatment over here with a view to hopefully playing some part in the one-day series."
