Shane Bond and Daryl Tuffey have been handed recalls to the New Zealand set-up after ending their association with the rebel Indian Cricket League.
Bond and Tuffey found themselves in the international wilderness after joining the ICL, however just weeks after terminating their contracts they have been welcomed back into the fold.
Tuffey has been named in the 15-man squad for the two Tests against Sri Lanka, with Bond included in the squad for the one-day internationals and Twenty20 matches.
Bond will play for the 'A' team in India before heading to Sri Lanka for the limited overs matches.
Neil Broom, Nathan McCullum and Kyle Mills will joined Bond in heading to Sri Lanka from the A team, while Ian Butler will also join the Black Caps after the two Tests.
Peter McGlashan will come in as a batsman who can cover as wicketkeeper for the Twenty20 matches, with Gareth Hopkins covering as wicketkeeper/batsman for the ODIs.
There is also a first call-up for Auckland wicketkeeper Reece Young, while Craig Cumming will provide specialist batting cover for the Tests.
"Many of the squad will be coming off their winter break, so the opportunity to get game time in sub-continent conditions is ideal," said head of the selection panel Glenn Turner.
"Shane Bond will also have a good opportunity to get up to speed before returning to the Black Caps."
