Black Caps skipper told shoulder injury is manageable

New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori has been passed fit for the first Test against Pakistan but seamer Kyle Mills will miss the entire three-match series. Vettori suffered mild concussion after being struck on the helmet by a Mohammad Aamer bouncer during the one-day series with Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates, prompting his early return home. He was also struggling with an injury to his left shoulder, which has been diagnosed as minor damage to his rotator cuff. Vettori has been told the injury can be managed by physiotherapy and exercise and will not affect his availability for the series opener at home to Pakistan, which starts in Dunedin on November 24. Mills, meanwhile, is set to undergo surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff in his shoulder and tendon damage in his right knee.
