Pakistan wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal and brother Umar have filed appeals against the fines they were handed for indiscipline by the Pakistan Cricket Board last month.
The brothers received the penalties in the aftermath of Pakistan's tour of Australia, with Kamran and Umar fined 3 million and 2 million rupees respectively.
"We have received their appeals in person and now it will be forwarded to an appellate tribunal," said the PCB's legal adviser Taffazul Rizvi.
According to former team manager Abdul Raquib, the Akmal brothers spoke out in the media when wicketkeeper Kamran was axed from the side due to his below-par performance after the second Test in Sydney.
Umar Akmal also allegedly feigned a back injury which could not be detected by medical examinations.
Inquiry
The PCB conducted an inquiry into the Pakistan team following their poor display in Australia, where they lost the Test series 3-0 and were defeated 5-0 in the one-day series.
The recommendations of the inquiry committee were implemented last month, with Twenty20 captain Shahid Afridi and the Akmal brothers put on the six-month probation.
Afridi was also hit with a fine for tampering with a ball during the one-day series, while all-rounder Rana Naved and former captain Shoaib Malik were fined and barred from the national team for one year.
Mohammad Yousuf, who retired from international cricket last month, and Younis Khan were banned from the Pakistan team indefinitely.
Rizvi outlined that the deadline for the remaining five players to lodge appeals is April 16.
The three-member appellate tribunal is made up of two retired supreme court judges, Munir Sheikh and Jamshed Ali Shah, and a former high court judge Irfan Qadir.
