An investigation is underway following a foul-mouthed Twitter outburst by Dimitri Mascarenhas'.
Hampshire all-rounder Dimitri Mascarenhas blasted England's national selector Geoff Miller in two separate posts on his Twitter page.
And it follows Kevin Pietersen's comments following his omission from England's squads for Twenty20 and one-day internationals against Pakistan this month.
But as the Twenty20 series began with a five-wicket win for England at Cardiff's SWALEC Stadium, the England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed a probe into 32-year-old Mascarenhas' explosive remarks.
"Geoff miller is a complete k**b. He had no clue what he is doing. Fing p***k," he posted.
"Chairman of selectors came to Liverpool and didn't even come and say hi... what a p***k. Doesn't take much to say hello, does it."
Mascarenhas is not a centrally-contracted England player, although he has previously featured in one-day and Twenty20 internationals.
An ECB spokesman said: "We are aware of the tweet and we are investigating the matter."
Mascarenhas is likely to face disciplinary action, and the matter is also being referred back to Hampshire.
Pietersen subsequently apologised for his Twitter remarks after he wrote: "Yep.. Done for rest of summer!! Man of the World Cup T20 and dropped from the T20 side too.. It's a f*** up!! Surrey have signed me for l ...(sic)."
The 30-year-old, who is currently playing out the season with Surrey is set to face a disciplinary hearing.
