Gloucestershire have completed the signing of New Zealand's Kane Williamson as their overseas player for the forthcoming season. The 20-year-old, currently at the World Cup, has signed a one-year contract to play for the county in all competitions. Williamson made his Test debut against India at Ahmedabad in November and scored 131 in New Zealand's first innings. He said: "I am really excited to have signed with Gloucestershire for this season. It is a great opportunity and I am looking forward to the challenges ahead." The county's director of cricket John Bracewell added: "He brings youth and a supposed lack of experience but I can assure supporters that not only does his early international record indicate great talent but I am aware of his work ethic and personal drive to not just be a good international cricketer but a great one." Fellow New Zealander Bracewell added: "He is the type of player from the Mike Hussey mould - driven to succeed through hard work and dedication. "He will be a great example not only to our younger players but also to some of our more senior batsmen, who are yet to fulfil their potential." Williamson will be Gloucestershire's second overseas player, with Muttiah Muralitharan committed to the county's t20 campaign.
