Nottinghamshire have released opening batsman Akhil Patel after deciding not to renew his contract.
Akhil, 21, younger brother of England international Samit, rejoined Notts in 2009 after initially leaving the club's academy to sign for Derbyshire.
Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell said: "Akhil has made some good scores in our second XI side and in league cricket.
"But he hasn't scored the volume of runs in the Championship that would warrant extending his contract."
Patel had a top score of 24 in three Championship matches last season as he failed to hold down a regular place in the side.
