West Indies skipper admits top-order batting must improve
West Indies captain Darren Sammy was happy with the way his side ended the Test series with England at Edgbaston.
Although the tourists lost the series 2-0 after defeats at Lord's and Trent Bridge, they were on top when rain brought an early end to the finale.
"The play we got (at Edgbaston) we really dominated. That was a good end to a three-Test series," Sammy said.
"There's a lot of work to do. When you look at the three Test matches, three times we scored over 300 runs.
"We did so with our top order not really coming to the party. The way Marlon (Samuels) batted, the way Shiv (Chanderpaul) batted and the lower-order contributions, it was good to see."
Tino Best was named man-of-the-match for his 95 - the highest Test score ever by a number 11 - and two wickets as England's batsmen struggled.
"If someone told me the other day that I would make a score of 95, I would have taken it anyway," Best added.
"The joy of getting 95, I'm grateful for an unbelievable achievement. When you get these successes you take them with a pinch of salt and enjoy them."
