Suresh Raina has been named captain of India A for the three-day fixture at Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium, while Yuvraj Singh is among nine batsmen in a 14-man squad.
Yuvraj has the chance to press for a Test recall after recovering from cancer. The left-hander has already made a successful comeback to international cricket at the World Twenty20 and has since scored a first-class double century in the Duleep Trophy.
There is no place for Rohit Sharma, who is another eyeing the retired VVS Laxman's spot in India's middle order for the first Test.
Seamers Irfan Pathan, Ashok Dinda, Vinay Kumar and Parvinder Awana are the only front-line bowlers included for the match, which is the first of England's three warm-up fixtures before the four-Test series starts in Ahmedabad on November 15.
