The seam bowler helped England to a Test series victory in India and a 0-0 draw in New Zealand during his winter travels.
New Zealand are England's first opponents on home soil in 2013 for a two-Test series, followed by the Champions Trophy and then the Ashes.
Finn will be rested for Middlesex's opening game against Nottinghamshire, which starts at Trent Bridge on Wednesday, but is available for the fixtures with Derbyshire (April 17-20) and Surrey (May 2-5) prior to the first Test against New Zealand at Lord's (May 16-20).
He told Sky Sports News: "It's going to be nice to come back and play for Middlesex, at Lord's especially, and try and contribute something to the start of the season.
"We've got a solid squad of young players and a few more experienced players in our team. We're looking forward to this season, it's going to be good.
"It is important that I start these first two games of the year well for Middlesex; try and take a few wickets, find some rhythm.
"And then moving into the Test matches - if I get selected - try and bowl well in those.
"It is a simple plan but there is a lot of hard work I have to do between now and the start of that Test series. I'm ready for it and excited."
