Bumble's blog

David Lloyd was his typically colourful self when looking back on the day's action at Trent Bridge. As well as a sly dig at Nasser Hussain's waistline and an amusing misinterpretation of the Test-opening display by the Red Arrows, Bumble's blog focused on how much swing the pacemen enjoyed. "What we are waiting for is a batsman to score 50," he said. "The ball has been swinging like a 60s suburban key party and it's going to be the same again tomorrow. Can't wait."

Video analysis

Nasser Hussain used Sky Cricket's new analysis centre to run the rule of over all the key battles from the opening day. Nasser paid particularly close attention to the way Australia's pace bowlers dealt with England batsman Jonathan Trott as they opted for a wider off-side line in a bid to induce a false shot. "Michael Clarke is a very good captain and quickly after lunch he got them to bowl outside off-stump," Nasser said. Click here for the rest of the video analysis of day one.
