Surrey have signed Australian all-rounder Moises Henriques as one of the club's overseas players for this summer's T20 Blast.

Henriques will join Sri Lanka legend Kumar Sangakkara at Surrey as the club look to make it three consecutive Edgbaston Finals Days.

Domestically in Australia, Henriques is captain of the New South Wales Blues and also leads the Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League.

Henriques has played all forms of the game for Australia and was in contention for both the World Cup and recently-announced Ashes squad. He has played four seasons in the Indian Premier League, and will join Surrey following his IPL commitments this year.

Henriques will be available to Surrey for the entire T20 Blast, including a potential quarter-final and Finals Day, and also provide cover for Sangakkara in other formats when the Sri Lankan leaves to represent his country in their Test series later in the summer.

“I’m really looking forward to playing for Surrey this season," said the 28-year-old. "It’s a club with a proud history and an exciting squad, and I hope to play my part in achieving success this summer.

“I’ve seen some of the names that are coming to England to be involved in the T20 Blast, so am looking forward to testing myself against some of the best players in the world.”
