Freddie back for England

Andrew Flintoff has been recalled into England's one-day squad for the series against India.

All-rounder is one of three changes to England's squad

Andrew Flintoff has been recalled into England's one-day squad for the forthcoming series against India. The Lancashire all-rounder, who has undergone three operations on his problem ankle, has been named in a 14-man squad for the first four matches of the forthcoming NatWest series against India. He bowled at full tilt for his county in their disappointing Twenty20 semi-final defeat to Gloucestershire at the weekend, and is one of three changes to England's one-day squad.

Monitored

Chairman of selectors David Graveney said: "Our squad for the NatWest series against India contains the majority of the players chosen against West Indies earlier this summer. "We are pleased to welcome Ravi Bopara and Andrew Flintoff back to the squad and we will continue to monitor Andrew's rehabilitation from his ankle injury closely in the run-up to the tournament against India. "India will be tough opponents in the 50-over game and the challenge for the team will be to demonstrate greater consistency in performance as we continue to build towards the next World Cup in 2011." Test captain Michael Vaughan and opener Andrew Strauss have again missed out, but Hampshire paceman Chris Tremlett is in after impressing during the Test series. Jonathan Trott, Michael Yardy and Liam Plunkett are the unfortunate trio to make way for the start of the seven-match series though. England take on India first at the Rose Bowl on August 21, before heading to Bristol on August 24, Edgbaston on August 27 and Old Trafford on August 30. Squad: Paul Collingwood (captain) (Durham), James Anderson (Lancashire), Ian Bell (Warwickshire), Ravi Bopara (Essex), Stuart Broad (Leicestershire), Alastair Cook (Essex), Andrew Flintoff (Lancashire), Dimitri Mascarenhas (Hampshire), Monty Panesar (Northamptonshire), Kevin Pietersen (Hampshire), Matthew Prior (Sussex), Owais Shah (Middlesex), Ryan Sidebottom (Nottinghamshire), Chris Tremlett (Hampshire)
