Scott Styris says the opportunity to eliminate England from the World Twenty20 is a huge source of motivation for New Zealand. The two Group E sides meet in Durban on Tuesday and defeat for England would almost certainly end their interest in the tournament, having already lost to South Africa on Sunday. In contrast, the Black Caps are aiming to build on Sunday's win against India and smooth their passage to the semi-finals. "I don't think it matters what sport it is, everyone likes to see England going home early," said Styris. "But we're not thinking about it like that. We're thinking that if we win we're a long way towards qualifying for the semi-finals."

Pressure

Styris also criticised England's selection policy, suggesting that some of the Twenty20 'specialists' were out of their depth at international level. However, the former Durham all-rounder does have more respect for Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Flintoff, describing them as 'match winners'. "A lot's been made of the fact that they've brought in a lot of guys who have been successful in their domestic competition," he added. "They probably haven't done as well as they would have hoped, and if we can put the pressure on those guys I think it puts more pressure on a couple of other guys in their order. "In any form of the game you are aware that teams have matchwinners and key players - in England's case they're the Pietersens and the Flintoffs. "You know that if you get those guys out for a cheap score you've every chance of winning. We know they're their danger players."
