Both Pakistan and India have called for bowling reinforcements for the crucial third and final Test match in Bangalore on Saturday.
Pakistan escaped with a draw from the second Test to ensure they go into the final match with a chance of drawing the series 1-1.
With both Pakistan's main strike bowlers Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Sami struggling for full fitness, Rao Iftikhar Anjum has been included for the third Test.
Rao will add more options for the final game, with all-rounder Yasir Arafat also included in the squad.
A spokesman for the Pakistan Cricket Board told the Daily Times: "The touring team has asked for Rao Iftikhar Anjum and their request has been accepted."
India have made included three new bowlers in their squad for the final Test, with Irfan Pathan, Ishant Sharma and VRV Singh all being called up.
The hosts have suffered a number of injury problems during the series with Zaheer Khan, Munaf Patel and RP Singh all ruled out of the final Test through injury.
Zaheer has been struggling with a heel injury, while RP Singh has damaged ribs and Munaf picked up a strained back that restricts his movement.
