West Indies captain Chris Gayle has been named in a 14-man squad for the third and final Test against Australia, which starts in Barbados on Thursday.
The Jamaican has been sidelined for almost two months due to a groin strain and must still pass a fitness test before his return is confirmed.
Ramnaresh Sarwan has led the side during the first two Tests of the series, the 95-run defeat in Jamaica followed by a draw in Antigua, but will drop back into the ranks if Gayle is passed fit.
Opening batsman Sewnarine Chattergoon also makes his return from a shoulder injury as West Indies chase a series-levelling victory, consequently there is no place for Devon Smith.
Uncapped 19-year-old seamer Kemar Roach, a veteran of just four first-class matches for Barbados, has been included in the squad, although there appears little prospect of him making the starting XI.
West Indies squad: Chris Gayle (captain), Ramnaresh Sarwan (vice captain), Sulieman Benn, Dwayne Bravo, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Sewnarine Chattergoon, Fidel Edwards, Xavier Marshall, Runako Morton, Daren Powell, Denesh Ramdin, Kemar Roach, Darren Sammy, Jerome Taylor
