Pakistan paceman's High Court appeal now set for October 24
The Lahore High Court has once again postponed a hearing on Shoaib Akhtar's attempt to overturn an 18-month ban.
Shoaib, 33, was initially handed a five-year ban by the Pakistan Cricket Board on disciplinary grounds in April, but that was later reduced to 18 months by an appellate tribunal. He was also fined seven million rupees.
The fast bowler, who has represented Pakistan in 46 Tests and 138 ODIs, filed an appeal with the Lahore High Court which temporarily suspended the sanction pending a final decision.
The hearing had already been postponed twice, but has now been further delayed until October 24.
"The judge was not available today and the new date is set for October 24," PCB lawyer Tafazzul Rizvi told the Associated Press.
Despite his pending court date, Shoaib represented Pakistan at the recent quadrangular Twenty20 tournament in Toronto.
