Paceman could miss Australia ODI series following arrest

West Indies paceman Jerome Taylor has reportedly been arrested for assaulting a police officer in Jamaica, putting his return to Australia for the upcoming one-day international series in doubt. It will be decided whether 25-year-old Taylor will be allowed to head back Down Under on January 12, when the bowler will appear in court over a row at a Jamaican Bar where he allegedly assaulted a police officer and used coarse language towards policemen. Along with being charged for assaulting a police officer, Taylor has also been charged with using indecent language, improper conduct and resisting arrest. The incident caps a miserable few weeks for the bowler, who was forced to return home from Australia after the first Test in Brisbane, where he bowled only nine overs before succumbing to a back and side injury.
