Australia paceman joining the Spitfires

Kent have finally completed the signing of Australia paceman Stuart Clark as their overseas player for the first half of the 2010 season. The Spitfires came close to signing the 34-year-old ahead of the Ashes last year - only for the deal to fall through due to visa issues. However Clark, who has taken 94 wickets in 24 Tests at an average of 23.86, has now been given the green light to arrive at Canterbury ahead of the new season. Kent's team director Paul Farbrace told the club's website: "We are delighted to finally sign Stuart. "He is an attractive signing for us because he is not playing in the Indian Premier League and will be available for the first half of the summer. "He is an exceptional bowler and will offer a lot; both on and off the field." Clark has previously played in the LV County Championship for Middlesex and Hampshire.
