Australia are anxiously waiting to find out the full extent of the Achilles injury which has troubled Simon Katich during the second Ashes Test.
The opening batsman was clearly troubled by the problem in the field as England amassed 620-5 declared during the match at Adelaide.
However he still came out at the top of the order for the hosts in their second innings, making 43 before being dismissed by Graeme Swann.
The left-hander hobbled between the wickets during his 85-ball knock and there are already doubts over his fitness for the third Test of the series, which gets underway at the WACA in Perth on December 16.
Katich was sent for scan on the injury with the results to be announced on Tuesday - the final day of the second Test.
Michael Hussey admitted after the close of day four that he had offered to open the innings in place of his team-mate, only for Katich to turn him down.
"I'm not sure the extent of the injury but it doesn't look good," said Hussey.
"It was an absolutely inspirational performance really. He's willing to show that he'll fight all the way even though he is on one leg, even the way he played today I thought he played really well considering he was obviously in a lot of pain."
"I even asked Ricky if he wanted me to open the batting and Kato said 'Nup'. He wouldn't have a bar of that either - (he said) 'it's my job I've got to do it'," he added.
"I've known Kato a long time and I don't expect anything less."
