Pakistan paceman moving to Hove for Twenty20 competition

Sussex have added to their firepower for the Friends Life t20 by signing Pakistan paceman Umar Gul for the competition. 2009 winners Sussex are hoping to win back the trophy this summer and 27-year-old Gul's guile has made him one of the top one-day bowlers around. Gul will join compatriot Rana Naved at the County Ground and the Sharks are delighted to have two of the world's premier bowlers on their books. 27-year-old Gul has taken over 300 international wickets across the three formats and he is excited to be heading down to Hove this summer. "I am delighted to be joining Sussex for the 2011 T20 campaign. I am really looking forward to helping the Sharks return to both finals day and the Champions League," said Gul. "Coming to Sussex is a privilege and the chance to follow in the footsteps of other Pakistani greats from Imran Khan to Mushtaq Ahmed, and to Rana Naved in the current team, is very exciting." Sussex professional cricket manager Mark Robinson said: "We're delighted that Umar has agreed to join us for the Friends Life t20. "The prospect of having two of the world's best t20 bowlers in Rana Naved and Umar, bowling in tandem, is a mouthwatering one."
