The EPP declared on 220-2 on the second day of their three-day contest in Perth before reducing the hosts to 167-6 as Tymal Mills took three wickets in quick succession.
The EPP started the day on 34-1, with Robson and Test hopeful Gary Ballance putting on a second-wicket stand of 193 in sweltering conditions.
Robson compiled an unbeaten 108 - his second century in successive games on tour - while Ballance contributed 89 to the cause.
The declaration came when Ballance's 126-ball innings was ended, giving the bowlers a chance to make inroads into Western Australia's batting line-up.
Mills then took three wickets in his first eight deliveries as WA took a lead of 266 with one day remaining.
The hosts slumped to 14-4 in reply, with Mills tearing through the top order and Chris Jordan taking the other early wicket.
Moeen Ali's off-spin then struck to further reduce WA to 32-5, but an 89-run partnership between John Rogers and Tim Armstrong saved the home side from embarrassment.
James Vince brought the stand to an end when he bowled Rogers for 45 before WA reached stumps with four wickets remaining.
