Inspired by Joe Root's first ODI century, and 99 from Jos Buttler, England claimed a 25-run success in the series decider in Antigua on Wednesday.
After a disastrous winter tour to Australia, the series success was well received, with Root and Buttler combining in a match-winning 175-run stand.
England were always in the ascendancy as West Indies chased down an unlikely total, although a superb 128 from Denesh Ramdin very nearly threw a spanner in the works.
"I'm very happy with the way the batsmen played," Broad told Sky Sports.
"To recover from five-down and for Rooty and Buttler to nearly get near hundreds - it won us the game.
"The wicket was the sort of you could bide your time on. Jos did that superbly. He looks unstoppable when he gets going like that."
