Jimmy Anderson handed England a boost as he returned to the Lancashire line-up on Monday after a month out with a groin injury.
Anderson was selected for the Specsavers County Championship Division One clash with Hampshire at Emirates Old Trafford.
The 34-year-old had been injured exactly a month ago, managing to bowl only 5.3 overs in Lancashire's Roses clash with Yorkshire before leaving the field.
Scans showed he had suffered a torn groin, leading to fears that Anderson would miss out on the start of England's Test series against South Africa.
But his early return improves his chances of being at 100 per cent by the time that series starts on July 6 at Lord's.
