Spinner agrees two-year extension at the County Ground
Left-arm spinner Vikram Banerjee has signed a new two-year contract with Gloucestershire.
The new deal keeps Leeds-born Banerjee with the Gladiators until the end of the 2010 season.
The 24-year-old broke into the Gloucestershire first XI at the end of the 2006 season and has taken 49 wickets from 26 first-class matches at an average of 55.59.
"The new contract is a great boost for me. With John Bracewell coming back as coach, there is a real buzz of expectation around the club and I am delighted to be part of it," Banerjee told the club's official website.
"I was disappointed not to play more often last season, but that is behind me now and I am looking forward with a lot of optimism.

"I believe spin can play a massive part in helping us take the 20 wickets you need to win a Championship game and I hope to play my part in a successful season."
Gloucestershire chief executive Tom Richardson said: "We are demonstrating the faith we have in Vikram's ability.
"Our director of cricket John Bracewell has expressed an intention to play two spinners when conditions suit in the coming season so we expect Vikram to play an important role."
Bracewell added: "In regards to the staff, Vikram complements the balance of our bowling attack.
"I'm really looking forward to working with him in conjunction with Richard Dawson and Matthew Gitsham, which gives us one of the most rounded spin bowling attacks in the country."
