Paul Collingwood hit a 34th first-class century as Durham enjoyed a fruitful second day against Kent in Division Two of the Specsavers County Championship.

Durham posted 448 in their first innings, Chris Rushworth (57 off 67 balls) chipping in with an entertaining maiden half-century at number 10 and Collingwood making 120.

Darren Stevens took 5-78 for Kent, who were immediately under pressure in their reply as Barry McCarthy (4-52) ran through the top order.

After being reduced to 63-6 and 123-8, Kent captain Sam Northeast (97no) dug in with Yasir Shah (37no) to post an unbroken partnership of 88 to take Kent to the close 211-8.

Ben Cox struck a fine 93 before Josh Tongue caused mayhem with the ball for Worcestershire on day one of their clash with Glamorgan at New Road.

Cox was promoted up the order after Tom Kohler-Cadmore's release to join Yorkshire was confirmed on Thursday and top-scored as the hosts were dismissed for 267 in 70.4 overs.

Tongue (5-16) then blitzed his way through the Glamorgan batting line-up with five wickets in four devastating overs as the Welsh county closed on 76-6, Jacques Rudolph unbeaten on 49.

Gareth Roderick finished unbeaten on 88, and found support from Phil Mustard (37) and Kieran Noema-Barnett (35no) in an even opening day, while Harry Gurney took 3-56 for Notts.

Teenager Conor McKerr took 5-87 in just his second first-class match as Derbyshire bowled Northamptonshire out for 218 inside 54 overs - Rob Newton top-scoring with 67.

In reply, Ben Sanderson (3-42), Nathan Buck (2-37) and Rory Kleinveldt (1-40) reduced Derbyshire to 153-6 by the close, though Shiv Thakor and Alex Hughes, with 45 and 50 not out respectively, offered some resistance.

Mark Cosgrove hit an unbeaten 122 as Leicestershire tallied 322-7 on their first day against Sussex, for whom Joffrey Archer starred with ball, taking 5-61.
