Lancashire head coach Peter Moores has attributed poor weather and inconsistent performances as the key reasons behind his side's shock relegation from Division One of the LV= County Championship.
The Red Rose county saw their top-flight status taken away from them at Lord's on Friday afternoon when Middlesex consigned them to a 109-run defeat - their ninth in 15 matches so far this season.
It has been a rapid fall from grace for the county - 12 months ago they were celebrating their first Division One title since 1934 after victory at Taunton handed them the Championship ahead of Warwickshire.
Speaking to
Sky Sports immediately after his side's relegation was confirmed, former England coach Moores admits everyone at the club must share the blame for their failings this year.
He said: "We've had lots of frustration from not playing as well as we wanted to, to rain like everyone else. It's been good to play four days in the sunshine today, it's not happened many times in the summer.
"We've no complaints, we haven't played good enough cricket but we've been frustrated because if you didn't get wins it the start of the season, the rest of the matches have largely been rain-affected.

"We had great times last year, this year has been completely different. You feel different emotions and you feel upset and you feel that for your supporters as well who have supported so loyally all season."
Moores insists he will wait until the end of the season before plotting an instant return to the top flight.
The 49-year-old, who believes there is more than enough quality at the club to bounce back, added: "We need to look at what areas we can get better at and make sure we come back next year and get back into Division One.
"We will all take mutual accountability, we go into it together and if it doesn't work we all need to take our part of the blame.
"We have got a game to go and then we'll look back on the season and decide what areas we could have done better and how we can move forward
"It's been an up and down four years so hopefully things settle down. We've got good players. The younger players are a bit inconsistent but they're coming through and we've also made a real push to play Lancashire lads.
"Let's hope we can enjoy some success next season."
