Rising star Tom Curran has signed a new three-year contract with Surrey which keeps him at The Oval until the end of the 2018 season.
The Cape Town-born fast bowler had a remarkable season, taking 105 wickets in all competitions, playing a key role in helping Surrey win the Division Two title and reaching the Royal London One Day Cup final.
He was named as the PCA Young Player of the Year and selected for the England Performance Programme later this year.
Curran said: "I'm delighted to have signed a new contract with the club and am excited to keep going and build on the work we've done this year.
"I'm lucky enough to play with a really great bunch of lads and would like to thank everybody else at the club for their support over the season.
"Gareth Batty has led our team incredibly well this summer and, alongside the rest of the squad, I'm looking forward to winning more trophies in the years to come."
Surrey's Director of Cricket Alec Stewart added: "Tom's performances this year have been quite outstanding and his selection on the England Performance Programme along with him winning the PCA Young Player of the Year Award is justification of his efforts.
He has a very bright career ahead of him with Surrey and I know the England selectors are already keeping a very close eye on him."
