Middlesex earned a first Specsavers County Championship win of the season, a heavy innings-and-64-run win over Yorkshire at Lord's.

Yorkshire were bowled out for 208 and 174 after being asked to follow-on in reply to Middlesex's first innings 446.

This win is also a fourth successive one for Middlesex over Yorkshire at Lord's, following last September's epic in which they clinched the title with Toby Roland-Jones finishing the match with a hat-trick.

Roland-Jones took 2-46 and Tim Murtagh 2-13 to reduce Yorkshire to 52-4 early in their second innings, while Ollie Rayner (4-35) wrapped up the tail to confirm Middlesex's emphatic win.

Dane Vilas smashed a career-best 244 before three wickets from England paceman James Anderson put Lancashire on the verge of victory against Hampshire at Old Trafford.

Vilas' double-ton took Lancashire to a massive first-innings score of 595 and a healthy lead of 198 before Anderson's three wickets - for just five runs - and another for Kyle Jarvis (1-21) reduced Hampshire to 26-4 inside 11 overs.

That then became 50-5 by the close of play after Ryan McLaren (1-18) added the scalp of James Vince for 29 late on.

Simon Harmer took six wickets to help Division One leaders Essex enforce the follow-on against Warwickshire on day three at Chelmsford.

Harmer (6-92) claimed a first five-wicket haul since joining at the start of the season to see Warwickshire dismissed for 283 in reply to the home side's 541-9 declared.

Harmer was then back in action after six overs of Warwickshire's second innings and he had Jonathan Trott out lbw for eight to the final ball of the day as the visitors closed on 27-2, still 231 behind.

Division Two

Another ruthless bowling performance from Nottinghamshire swept them to their fifth win in Division Two, strengthening their lead at the top of the table, as they thrashed Leicestershire by an innings and 280 runs at Trent Bridge.

Leicestershire, bowled out for 134 in their first innings, struggled just as badly second time around and swiftly succumbed for exactly the same score.

Luke Fletcher took 3-16 and James Pattinson bagged 3-38 as the match was wrapped up just after lunch on the third day.

Joe Denly demonstrated immense powers of concentration in the sweltering heat to score a massive 227 as Kent took control on day three of their clash with Worcestershire.

Dent, 67 not out overnight, batted for a total of nearly eight hours in notching his career-best 227 score as Kent racked up 474 in their second innings, setting their New Road hosts 399 to win.

It rescued Kent from the real possibility of losing inside three days, after they had lost their sixth wicket shortly before lunch when their overall lead was only 129.

Worcestershire were 16-0 after five overs of their second innings by stumps.

Durham lost five wickets for just six runs but still emerged with a decent first-innings lead after a rain-affected third day against Glamorgan at Emirates Riverside.

After thunder storms wiped out the morning session, Durham collapsed from 328-4 to 334-9, but last-wicket pair Chris Rushworth (38) and Barry McCarthy (30no) put on 68 to take Durham up to 402 and a lead of 107.

The home side then reduced Glamorgan to 92-2 in their second innings by stumps - Matty Potts (2-16) taking both wickets.
