Eight players disciplined by ECB

England's one-day opener Craig Kieswetter is among a group of eight players who have been disciplined by the England and Wales Cricket Board for their on-field conduct. Somerset wicketkeeper Kieswetter joined Essex's Grant Flower and Hampshire's Chris Benham in being charged for a showing serious dissent at an umpire's decision. All three received three penalty points, with the accumulation of nine points in any two-year period leading to an automatic suspension. Flower had previously been given an official reprimand for using "obscene, offensive or insulting" language or gestures in June's Friends Provident t20 match against Somerset. Gloucestershire's Jon Lewis also received three penalty points for a throwing the ball "at or near a player, umpire or official in an inappropriate and dangerous manner", as did Northamptonshire's Lee Daggett who was removed from the attack in a Twenty20 match after bowling a beamer. Second XI cricketers Karl Brown and Joel Pope were handed official reprimands for showing dissent against umpiring decisions, with James Hockley given the same punishment for abuse of a cricket ground or equipment.
