Graham Onions and James Anderson split the wickets as Lancashire sealed their first Specsavers County Championship Division One victory of the season, beating Nottinghamshire by an innings and 67 runs.
Having dominated the second day, Lancashire held a 99-run lead at the start of day three and needed another five wickets for victory.
Tom Moores and Jake Libby battled through the first few overs but once Onions had Moores caught behind, the end came quickly.
Onions also accounted for Stuart Broad and Jake Ball to finish with figures of 6-55 while Anderson removed Libby (46) and Luke Fletcher, the England bowler taking 4-26 as Notts were all out for 138.
Lancashire take 22 points from the game to move up to fourth for the time being while Notts stay top. SCORECARD
And, champions Essex wrapped a 32-run win over Worcestershire as Peter Siddle and Simon Harmer took five wickets each.
After Alastair Cook made 66, the visitors were bowled out for 275 in their second innings, leaving the hosts requiring 215 for victory at New Road.
However, Siddle (5-37) and Harmer (5-43) rattled through the promoted side's line-up with top-scorer Travis Head (62) the last man out. SCORECARD
In Division Two, Leicestershire edged out Glamorgan by only three runs in a thrilling finish to day three at Grace Road.
Having set Glamorgan 251 to win, the home side appeared to be cruising to a comfortable win as they reduced their Welsh visitors to 139-8.
But, Marchant de Lange then launched a staggering fightback, smashing eight sixes and five fours in a 46-ball 90 that took Glamorgan to within a boundary of victory, only for De Lange to perish when looking for the winnings runs to gift Leicestershire the most dramatic of wins. SCORECARD
Will Rhodes scored his maiden first-class century as Warwickshire beat Northamptonshire by six wickets at Edgbaston.
The visitors began the day on 160-7 in their second innings but two wickets for Olly Stone (5-49) and one for Chris Wright (3-58) saw them bowled out for 187.
That left Warwickshire needing 179 to win and Rhodes, opening the batting, led the way. He finished unbeaten on 100, holding the innings together after they had slipped to 44-3 and 94-4. A stand of 86 with Matthew Lamb (26no) got the Bears over the line. SCORECARD
Kent wrapped up a 58-run win over Sussex in their low-scoring clash in Canterbury, with New Zealand overseas quick Matt Henry the star.
Henry claimed 6-53 to dismiss Sussex for 211 when chasing 270 to win - he finished with 10-for in the match, having picked up 4-69 in the first innings.
Henry also had a fine game with the bat; with Kent struggling at 146-7 in their second innings - a lead of only 180 - Henry struck 55 crucial runs, off only 53 balls to fire his side up to a match-winning total. SCORECARD
Back in Division One, England captain Joe Root was dismissed cheaply twice in a day as Yorkshire were forced to follow-on against Surrey at The Oval.
Wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow struck 95 but the visitors were bowled out for 229 runs in their first inning in response to the hosts' 414 - with Root having been trapped lbw by Sam Curran (6-54) for 19.
And, the stand-in Yorkshire captain was then bowled spinner Amar Virdi for 23 in Yorkshire's second innings as the away side closed on 142-5, still trailing by 43 runs - Bairstow 25 not out. SCORECARD
James Vince and Hashim Amla hit unbeaten half centuries to lead Hampshire's fight back against Somerset after James Hildreth's 184 had put the hosts on top at Taunton.
The Somerset batsman added 59 runs to his overnight 125 before being caught off Tom Alsop as the home side were bowled out for 506.
Openers Joe Weatherley and Jimmy Adams were both dismissed for 11 in the away side's second innings but Vince (63no) and Amla (86no) shared a 139-run third-wicket partnership as Hampshire closed on 178-2, 97 runs behind. SCORECARD
In Division Two, Gloucestershire have a battle on their hands to save their game against Middlesex, after being forced to follow on on day three, finishing still 179 runs behind on 66-2 in their second innings.
Hilton Cartwright took 4-33 and Tom Helm 3-48 as Middlesex bowled out Gloucestershire for 210 in their first innings - captain Chris Dent top-scoring with 66 - in reply to their Lord's hosts' 455-8 declared. SCORECARD
Hundreds for Michael Richardson (115) and Stuart Poynter (170) saw Durham take a narrow lead over Derbyshire as they finished the third day 92 runs ahead of their hosts, having been bowled out for 520 in their first innings.
